Un (altre) català a Estònia

No ho havia comentat per aquí, tot i que ja ho vaig comentar a diversa gent. Fa aproximadament una setmana que estic a Estònia, treballant i vivint-hi. Almenys per 4 mesos aprox., i llavors tornaré. Com una experiència de final d’estudis, per treballar, etc. Ja sabeu que hi havia anat 2 cops i és un país que m’agrada, i fa anys que tenia pendent d’anar algun lloc a l’acabar els estudis.
Estònia és un païs fred. L’any passat van arribar a -30ºC, però aquesta any “no toca”. Plou força, podeu veure dades anuals a aquesta pàgina (de la capital d’Estònia, Tallinn. Altres llocs són força més freds). És a dir, sembla que d’aquí un mes i mig o dos mesos hauré de conviure amb neu contínuament i molt de fred. Volia anar a un lloc ben diferent, crec que dins Europa és un pais molt diferent!
(Nota per si mireu les dades: són temperatures mínimes i màximes de promig! no són les extremes. Hi ha mesos que plou la meitat de dies. Per cert, aquí podré fer finalment un ninot de neu, que no n’he fet encara mai cap)
Ah! no m’agradaria que això es convertís amb una sèrie d’entrades d’Estònia nivell de diari personal. Sempre s’em fa molt curiós qui escriu un blog com un diari personal de la vida a l’estranger: m’agrada llegir-ho però no ho trobo molt útil. Suposo que algunes curiositats se’m escaparant. De moment aquesta entrada i una altra, però ja serà suficient per un bon temps, crec.
Feina
Coses que m’han cridat l’atenció de la feina, dins la meva reduïda experiències amb feines: treballo 8 hores, horari lliure. Hi vaig de 9 a 17 hores, i les hores de feina inclouen el temps de dinar i el temps d’un té/cafè a mitja tarda. A més a més, és lògic, hi ha lloc per deixar les sabates i posar-se sabatilles a la feina. No cal ara, però entenc que a l’hivern quan cal anar amb els peus molt calents per la neu serà útil. Com a suplement jo tinc un raspall de dents i pasta de dents, així ja em sento com a casa. El mes vinent em compraré unes sabatilles per la feina.
A la feina hi ha molt silenci. M’agrada! Treballo molt amb un noi de Txèquia, que fa 5 anys que viu a Estònia. També amb un noi Estonià. El cap és Estonià. La comunicació és en anglès, evidentment. Ja comentaré coses de la llengua Estoniana pròximament (avui he estat a unes xerrades de Linux en Estonià durant 3 hores, mare meva! és una llengua difícil d’aprendre, hi ha catalans que m’han dit que és depresiva aprendre-la… costa molt, no és llatina, la pronunciació té el seu què també).
El Txec els 3 primers dies m’ha acollit molt, crec que pot ser perquè ell és de fora i està molt obert a explicar les diferències d’Estònia amb altres paisos i perquè ell va passar pel mateix procés (no saber demanar el menjar a la cafeteria, on les noies que agafen la comanda no parlen en anglès, per exemple).
Fins i tot el primer dia, dinant, vaig comentar que m’agradava més el basquet que el futbol i que m’agradaria veure algun partit a Estònia, per curiositat. I em va aconseguir per la mateixa nit una entrada, aprop seu i de la seva dona, per veure el partit Estònia-Letònia. Això sí que és arribar i moldre!

Pel fred no et preocupis gaire. Pensa en alguns avantatges que té.
Els ninots de neu, siii i també pots patinar sobre el gel. Pots fer baixades en trineu. És divertidíssim. Busca un lloc bonic, amb pendent i si no hi ha trineu amb uns plàstics, l’hule de la casa. No te’n penediràs. I això de les sabatilles a la feina, trobo que ho podríem importar, és fantàstic.
A mi sí que m’agraden els blocs de viatges. A veure no n’abusis, però parla’ns algun cop de cop són per allí i què fan i tot això.
Ànims amb l’idioma i paciència. Fins aviat.

Per mi tampoc és cap problema que facis un bloc de viatges, tot i que si vols el pots fer per temes, com fas de vegdes amb els museus o com vaig fer amb l’estres de la gent d’Israel.
